Of all the ancient gods, goddesses, and demons none is perhaps more frightening than the Sumerian Inanna. Aka. Ishtar, Lilith, and Athena. Known as a vampire who not only ruled empires but as a succubus who came in the night to devour the flesh and souls of people of all ages, including children. Also known for being the first goddess to descend into the Underworld the resurrect her slain lover after three days, a story repeated in many cultures around the world. Painting based on the very famous Babylonian stelae from the Second Millenium BC and belongs in a museum if truth be told because it is a rare depiction in color of an extremely important historical personage and statue. But it could just as easily hang in your private collection among your own array of nefarious and legendary figures.
