THE FIRST BREAKFAST (24” X 48”)) Oil on canvas

Jesus has fled Jerusalem for France following the defeat at Masada in 70AD (see the works of the renowned scholar, Ralph Ellis). Now his wife (one of two, the other has fled with Him), Mary Magalene, one of the richest and most powerful Priestess-Queens from the House of Magdala, has assumed His position as leader of the Jerusalem Sect (see the Nag Hammadi texts). This painting depicts the first breakfast following Jesus’ departure. Mary raises her arms to unify the Apostles, for now they must go underground in order to survive. At her side (without halos) stand spies working for Mary who will infiltrate the Roman Empire and begin planting the seeds of its downfall. As with all the paintings in this series of “Last Suppers” ultimately it is up to the interpretation of each individual to determine its true meaning. Perfect for the dining room or den of the devout Christian or the conspiracy buff this painting asks the questions, “Who was Jesus really? And does it really matter as long as His Message of Love is what we all garner from His Story?”
